How long has it been since you wrote your sweetheart a love letter? With recent news of Governor Mark Sanford’s “extramarital emails” I couldn’t help but wonder how his life would be different if he had invested the same time and energy into writing love letters to his wife.

Fireproof the movie is now out on DVD (as of January 27, 2009). This is a movie that no couple should miss! After going to see the movie with my husband, I wanted my kids to see it too. It was pretty funny to see all the couples in the movie theater and then me there with my three kids. They loved it though. My daughter even said it beat out High School Musical 3 (HSM3) as her favorite movie. (I’ll admit my kids may be a bit warped though having to live with a marriage maniac!) Don’t make your husband last on your list this Christmas. Make the holidays a little happier for your honey by paying attention to the Four A’s: Appreciation, Admiration, Attention and Affection. ~~~~~~~~~~~

Yet it sends a message that is rarely seen on the big screen that your marriage is worth fighting for, and that the best way to go about it is by including God in the process. Few things are more enticing than chocolate—especially around Valentine’s Day. But the sweetness fades and the residual calories remain. Give your sweetheart something different this year. What’s better than chocolate you ask? How about something from the heart.
A friend recently asked me to write “a prescription” for her husband to provide more of a certain loving behavior to help her stop eating chocolate so much. I promptly wrote out the prescription on a napkin and handed it to her with a smile. The husband later told me he was happy to oblige. I started calling him her chocolate substitute!
